Snass (24) was born Safie Sekgwa in a village of Mochudi, a few miles away from Gaborone City (GC), the capital city of the world''s most peaceful country, Botswana.
Snass first dream was to become an R&B artist, but his interests changed as time went by and so soon he decided to resort to rapping. He made history by being the first out with a solo rap album in 2002. There is no doubt that Snass'' "Playa of the Year" became a model for other rap albums soon to be released. Soon after releasing his album, a series of other HOT rap artists emerged with their solo efforts. And now the whole Hip-hop industry is booming and promising for commercial artists - entertainment is BIG in Botswana (Africa''s most stable economy or The Jewel of Africa, or "Little Switzerland"). And, according to Snass, the whole industry''s current status is greatly indebted to DJ Sid for being the man behind building the foundation for Hip-hop in Botswana.
"My man Sid was probably the only DJ playing Hip-hop in Botswana before Hip-hop took Botswana by storm towards the late 90s. The early 90s to the mid-90s saw DJ Sid change the whole game. He was a DJ at RB II, the only commercial radio station at the time. And I was there listening to his shows as a fan, and would even feel inspired and call to say wassup live...He probably doesn''t remember, but I did holla. I knew I would be Snass one day and continue where he left, like add to his efforts. I was inspired; and now if my second album goes platinum, this is the first Brother I''ma eat with at my table at one of those fly GC restaurants or maybe https://www.tradebit.comdy''s Justin''s - how ''bout that Sid? And you know at this point, I wanna encourage more Brothers from Botswana to step up their game and help take this shiznit to the next platinum level. PEACE."

Snass specializes in slow rap, which he calls Hip-hop soul. He raps about what''s going on around the world, and he is there to promote peace and unity. With his Hip-hop label, Mos Syde Entertainment, which was established around 1996, he plans to change the way the world looks at Botswana and Africa. Snass currently lives in New York where he is attending college - New York Institute of Technology. His major is business and IT. And while in New York, he has at least managed to meet his role model, hip-hop mogul, Sean "https://www.tradebit.comdy" Combs. Snazzy promises to put Botswana on the map by networking with the best in the business. But, of course, Snass can''t wait to go back to where he originated from - Botswana! Always homesick - sick of always been away from home. Lived in Zimbabwe, Canada, and now the US...Never enjoyed his youth in Botswana. His reason to wanna go back soon is justified.
"I ain''t going back to Botswana without no major accomplishment in the USA. I gotta hit it big before I turn around. The world gotta know what a true nigga is about...I ain''t black, I am baby blue (skyblue - yeah raise the flag if ya feel me), and I do good things to feel good. Botswana gotta be a household name all over the world...that''s my vision. I keep promises, so Botswana, my beloved country, Africa''s daughter, ''here we come baby!'' I got a gift for you."
