Mahootie is comprised of members of the orange county groups "The Latin Blues Project" and "Reverb Tv" of which both bands have been nominated numerous times at the Orange County Music Awards since 2005 in many categories for their songwriting talents and musical abilities. They have come together in the new group "mahootie" formed in 2007 and drive a new sound with lead vocalist Phillip Baxter a.k.a. "wang chung" and the percussive talents of Oscar and Fred Gonzales with their debut CD available February 7, 2009 on the street and all your favorite digital outlets. Many other talented musicians from large backgrounds with explosive resumes will accompany the trio for the 8+ member fascinating and powerful live performances to come in 2009 as the follow up to their debut release. Expect a second album to follow close behind as the band is preparing for a jam packed schedule in the coming new year.
