Born and raised in Sonoma County of California, music has always played a part in Jeff’s life. He grew up with a musical family, all gifted in a unique way, and weaned musical habits from them. He’s played local venues as well as distant locations. Some of these include Air Lounge in Oakland, Red House Live in Walnut Creek, Coffee Catz in Sebastopol, and The Belrose Theater in San Rafael. He opened a show with his former band for the headlining act “Roper”, previously known as Five Iron Frenzy.
Jeff has explored his creativity throughout his life, but it wasn’t till about the age of 18 that he discovered a local by the name of Doc Collins. He met Doc at a house concert for Art Lande and heard rumors of his career as a musician and teacher. Doc was managed by Bill Graham and toured with as many big names as one could imagine at the time...Sting to name one. Jeff and Doc both met that night for the first time with Jeff’s dad and made a great connection. Ever since, Jeff has studied Docs’ method to teaching improvisation, blues, jazz, pop and songwriting techniques. Jeff has made a demo called “Reflection” that premiered first unofficially on his myspace profile then officially on iTunes with four fabulously crafted songs. Just a few samples to say the least. He has an arsenal of 12 acoustically written songs and counting. As a side yet equally important project, “Painting Sounds”, an album released unofficially on myspace in 2008, was released to the public. He’s since then made connections with various artists, performers, inspirations and talents who’ve all made a huge impact on his life. After the Chase, Anna Hulmes, David Greco, Aaron Espe, Seth Davis from a formerly known band as “Daily Planet”, and many others. Today, he is still writing songs and pushing the outer envelope. We’ll see what happens next...
