Travis Marvin was born and raised in the small, mid-west town of Ottawa, Kansas. His life has always been driven by music. Since he can remember, he’s always listened to his father and grandfather play country music every Sunday. Travis began singing and playing the piano and then quickly started picking up the guitar. Playing piano was always fun for him, but he never really learned how to read music, only play by ear. He has been involved in many musicals and choirs since he was little. Travis went on to college and attended Washburn University where he realized that music was still in his life. He joined the men’s choir and was involved in many musical organizations to help promote his musical talent. He began singing in competitions and always placed in the top positions. He was the winner of the Hey Y’all Karaoke contest in 2002, where he met vocalist, drummer, Dusty Workman who became a friend for life. Travis was also a State finalist for the Country Colgate Showdown and sang at the Kansas State Fair held in Wichita, Kansas. Travis has also sung as a semi-finalist for the popular reality T.V. show Nashville Star in the Kansas City, Kansas finals. Travis married his high school sweetheart, Summer and they currently still reside in Ottawa, Kansas today. Dusty introduced Travis to 1997 “ASCAP writer of the year” Eddie Kilgallon who was a founding member of the popular group “Ricochet” back in the late 90’s Since then, Eddie K has landed a super gig as the keyboardist for the multi-platinum Sony music act, Montgomery Gentry. Through Dusty, Travis also met Steve and Brenda Kitchen. The Kitchen’s are a family in Central Texas with hearts of GOLD. Through a BIG donation from the Kitchen’s and some hard work, Travis was able to travel to Nashville, TN in May of 2008 and begin recording his first Country Music album. NOW, it’s on the move to sell his EP with a goal of going back to Nashville at the end of this year!
