Most recently, distribution and publishing interest from Tinderbox Music/No Alternative Records (Soul Asylum) prompted the group to independently release their first full-length album on 9/05/03, which is produced by Stay-C Hogan and co-produced by chart-topping songwriter /producer Jim Allison of Aria Records/Allisongs Inc. (Billy Ray Cyrus, Reba, LeAnn Rimes). The group has also obtained representation with entertainment attorney Jeff Biederman, Esq. (Collective Soul, Edwin McCain, Angie Aparo), in order to put their music in front of the music industry decision-makers.

The idea of Spout began when lead singer/songwriter Stay-C Hogan was winning piano competitions at age 6 and opening shows for Emmy Lou Harris on national television shows by age 11. By age 16, with many high profile performances under his belt, Stay-C began seeking his own self-expression through music in a louder, more boisterous manner. A year after his move to Nashville in 1999, the rock group lineup now known as Spout was formed.
