With a demo so sparce they didn''t even give me the song titles. But I''m so enamored with this band I''m going to play them anyway, whatever it might be called. - Richard Milne, WXRT 93.1 Chicago

Every time I hear The Delafields CD a different musical flourish grabs my attention, accordian, piano, harmonica, lead guitar. This is live roadhouse and honky tonk music with a pop sound in the best sense of the word. If you can''t get to see them, take the CD home, crack open a beer and dance around in the kitchen.-- Tom Jackson WLUW 88.7 Chicago

The Delafield''s performance schedule the past two years has almost exclusively revolved around a monthly gig at the popular neighborhood bar, Simon''s Tavern, at the corner of Foster and Clark in Chicago. It is in this small and smokey venue where The Delafields chose to quietly hone their impressive sounds while building an almost cult like following. With the release of their debut CD, "The Delafields", they make their presence known to the Chicago music scene.

Recorded by popular punk rock producer, Matt Allison, nine original and two traditional songs make up the CD. Sounds of bluegrass, rock, pop and a mysterious hint of Civil War era songs were carefully woven together by Allison''s dynamic punk sensibility. The merging of these forms bring a sound all its own that is both accessible and distinctive.

Allison, best known for his production work on all the Alkaline Trio records as well as The Lawrence Arms, Duvall, Sarge, and early Uncle Tupelo says of The Delafields'' CD, "This is a great example of how American music should be known. It''s one of my favorite records I''ve recorded and it will be a shame if it''s not heard by everyone."
