Details:
" The Splendid Nobodies play the hell out of their instruments and songs from their fine new album Coming Back Around ... " wrote The Boston Herald, announcing the release of the band''s debut record. Later they placed the disc on a list of 10 Boston records worthy of being heard by a wider audience and described the Nobodies'' sound as "equal parts Carl Perkins, the Flying Burrito Brothers and The Rolling Stones."

The Noise, a magazine dedicated to covering the rock scene of Boston, also raved about the CD saying, "This is a flat out great disc...punchy and full of life. I can''t remember hearing a better sounding local album...The band seemlessly blends elements of rock, country, folk, and bluegrass, and somehow doesn''t sound like any of them."

The hook laden songs found on Coming Back Around blend acoustic and electric guitars with vocal harmonies. They were recorded and mixed at Boston''s Woolly Mammoth Sound with local ace David Minehan (The Neighborhoods) behind the controls. Boston Soundcheck Magazine wrote, "Quite frankly, I think the CD is nearly perfect!" and Boston''s River 92.5 FM gave the Splendids a spin, featuring the track " Everybody''s in Lines " on their
New Frontiers Program.

The Boston Globe followed with a feature article on the band in which they claimed,"Right down to its name, Boston''s Splendid Nobodies is a humble crew - in everything that is, but musicianship. The Nobodies'' musical universe merges blues rock, traditional country, and rockabilly."

In a review of a Nobodies'' live show, The Noise said, " I am allergic to country. I am sick of folk. So how is it that a band of so called nobodies can mix these musics with rock and make me want to dance on the table? " The group has performed extensively in the Boston area and they have toured the East Coast, electrifying crowds in fine venues like CBGB''s Gallery in New York City. Other tour stops have included Albany NY, Providence RI, Philadelphia PA, Washington DC and Richmond VA. The band was chosen to showcase in the 2002 NEMO Music Conference in Boston and they were named Battle of the Bands Winners by Volkswagen of America in a national contest held to find the best unsigned acts in the country to fill the opening slots on festival dates of their College ED. Tour '' 02.

Boston Magazine suggested, "Maybe this band should reconsider its name. The Nobodies are quickly becoming Somebodies for their blues-meets-rockabilly sound. But the Splendid part justly describes their contagious and inspired playing." The band continues to write and play music that The Boston Herald calls, " as fun as a backyard hootenanny...Splendid, indeed. "
