Details:
In 2007, Don de Leaumont will release his 4th CD
titled “…said the firefly to the hurricane” celebrating
his 10th Anniversary as a folksinger/
songwriter. Drawing its title from a line in a song
by Kevn Kinney, one of Don’s biggest and earliest
influences, “…said the firefly to the hurricane”
is another collection of songs that shows tremendous
growth and promise. On this release, while
maintaining the fun-loving storytelling side that he
has become known for, Don reaches over into
the darker areas of his life and really gets personal.
He talks about pondering his own
“growing old” in the song “I Drive” and even addresses
the emotional impact Hurricane Katrina
had on him and his family in “It Weighs A Ton”.
On the lighter side, Don lives the “rock and roll
dream” of going to California to be a star in the
song “California Bound”.
“…said the firefly to the hurricane” is an album for
the people. It’s not brain surgery. It’s not progressive.
It’s accessible and it’s easy to find your
self in these songs. Just allow yourself the opportunity
to let go and join the story.
