Debut album, “Destiny” from Amarillo, Texas native Gregg Diamond. This collection of songs are in the genre of acoustic rock, rock and country. Great CD to listen to when you hit the open road!

“Destiny”consist of thirteen original songs that highlight Gregg’s lyrics based on his true life experiences. Song titles range from driving rock tunes such as “Destiny,” “Carry me Away,” and “Time Flies” to the Tex-Mex influenced “Pretty Senorita ,”the acoustic ballad “I can count on you” and the old R&B throwback “The one for me.” Song subjects include finding love , lost love , divorce , aging , cancer support , family, unanswered prayers and a couple of road trip songs.

Gregg’s debut recording comes from the production and engineering of Bill Ockander and Carlos Casso. Some of the notable artists that recorded on the album are singer Carmen Espinoza Rodriquez on the duet “So Confused .” Guitar virtuoso’s Woody Key and Jerry Thompson on many songs. David Lee Rodriquez added his tenor vocals on the duet “Pretty Senorita ” and co-wrote “So Confused.” Glenn Diamond’s electric bass , double bass and electric guitar tracks. The horn section on track five is from “Algo Simple” and the horn section from track thirteen is from “Vic Fontana.”

Gregg is a Texas native. His early years were spent in the Corpus Christi area and then he moved to Amarillo. Other stops included the Lubbock area , College Station, Borger , Canyon , Shamrock , Wellington , Seagraves and many trips to visit family in the hill country. He was raised with a wide variety of music in the 70’s and the 80’s, influenced by anything from Ray Charles to Merle Haggard or Huey Lewis to The Eagles. He graduated from West Texas A&M University as a trumpet major with an emphasis in music education. He played in the symphonic band, jazz bands and the orchestra.

Diamond’s post-college musical experiences include ten years playing with Texas panhandle tejano band, “Algo Simple.” They recorded two CDs, the first as an independent album and the second with Haceinda Records out of Corpus Christi. One year with the jazz combo “Refried Beans” out of the Lubbock, Texas area. Five years and currently playing with Amarillo, Texas R&B band “Vic Fontana and the Automatics.”(https://www.tradebit.com) Vic Fontana was voted the 2006 #1 Concert Act in Amarillo, Texas.
