MP3 Stampead - ROCK: Modern Rock

The answer to today''s rock music. Compared to epic sounds of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Paul Simon, and Pearl Jam, STAMPEAD''s original display of landmark lyrics, vocal intensity and melodic guitar work have paved the way as the next monumental rock band.

12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Folk Rock

Details:
Stampead is a powerful and unique 4 piece based out of Los Angeles, CA. Couch The Comfort is their second self-produced full-length. Judd David (lead vox, rhythm guitar), Eric David (lead guitar, vox), Thad Struck (bass) and Sean McKinney (drums) recorded the true-to-their art offering in three days. As Judd says, "most of the songs we only played once or twice then moved onto the next. We couldn''t afford to waste any time."

Stampead specialize in honest, passionate rock with a classic rock feel, drawing on inspiration and influences of Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Queen and Paul Simon. Judd and Eric are the main constructors of the musical signature and style of Stampead. The Brothers inter-mingling Guitar melodies and accomplished solos in combination with Judd''s intense vocals weave a fabric of sonic style that leaves fans and musicians in awe. The word "epic" is a common description of their songs and shows. Although no two of their songs sound alike, they are most definitely recognizable. Judd''s passionate voice is the foundation of their powerful sound and his lyrics are the blueprint for their personal songs. The guitar work stands as their cornerstone and trademark. Eric explains, "Judd''s lyrics are the most important thing to us. It''s easy to write music that doesn''t say much, but we tend to spend more time finding music for the lyrics." Judd concurs, "We put a lot of time into matching words with the right melody and making sure each second of every song has got you." Eric comments, "Technically, I play lead guitar but I think of it more as the second voice of Stampead." Their guitar styles pick up where bands such as The Allman Brothers, Lynard Skynard and Blind Melon left off.

The band is more concerned with expressing their emotions, connecting with their audience and reputable musicality than they are with musical trends. According to Eric "We''re not concerned with the current trends or trying to sound like anything we hear out there. We''re more interested in writing songs and making albums that have meaning, that are thought out, that we are 100% satisfied with, music that we will still be proud of and want to sing when we are old." Thad comments, "The biggest compliment is looking out into the crowd and seeing people enjoying what we are doing. Connecting with the audience is the best feeling. Period."

Although there were only three days in the studio to record Couch The Comfort, Stampead has been preparing themselves for a lifetime. Brothers Judd and Eric began playing guitars in their early teens. Judd''s first teacher was Gina Style (lead guitarist of the 80''s mavens Vixen.) While Eric spent most of his formitive years learning songs from magazines or by ear. He went on to study classical guitar in college, where he developed an interest and spent years studying the oud (middle eastern lute), the sitar and nay (reed flute.) He comments, "I''ve learned to play a lot of instruments, but in the end, I always go back to the guitar." Sean picked up his first set of garage-sale sticks and skins when he was 10 years old. Thad''s first bass was a Christmas present from his mom when he was sixteen, a pawnshop-style green Samick four-string that he''s still playing today.

Stampead is prolific. This is the their second full-length and not even half of their songs have been recorded yet. This young, humble and hard-working band''s long-term, overall goal is to spend as much time as possible making music and on the road, to continue to grow musically and to express the intense emotions, fear, regret, joy, love and honesty they have while writing the songs to the listeners when they eventually hear them.
