Details:
If you like smooth vocals catchy lyrics then this is a must for your CD collection Stan The Man''s "A Breath of Fresh Air" CD has all the trappings of a major label production of such artist as Luther,George Benson and Al Jarreau. As a singer/songwriter and musician places him in that unique category. Pop R&B with Jazz undertones and a clear cut look at Love and Romance minus the down sides.

This could be the beginning of a whole new genre Called Positive Pop R&B. Stan the man grew up in Middletown, Ohio. He was the eleventh of twelve children, born to southern Methodist minister Rev. Felton Griffin and Annie Bea Griffin. Middletown is a small midwest town, kmown more for its sports than music. Stan grew up playing sports mostly until going to the basement of his house one day, where his older brother practiced the saxophone. He picked up the sax and began playing. His mother, not knowing it was him playing, yelled to his older brother, "It''s time to knock it off Its getting late. Momma Its me, "Stan, playing!" She was astonished that he learned so quickly. Soon after that, he had his own sax and was playing in night clubs at the tender age of sixteen. No one ever bothered to check to see how old I was at the time. They just thought I was old enough because I was a musician. Stan picked up the guitar later and found that he could play it just as well and started to write his own music!

After traveling in bands, playing Military NCO clubs, he decided to move to California where he hooked up with a group called First Class as a Lead vocalist, opening for such acts as The Manhattans and Regina Belle. He began to miss home, and hearing the call of God, Stan began recording his first Gospel CD, going on to record three Gospel CDs total. Stan says deep in his heart he had this longing to do Love Ballads. I''ve always thought that in my heart I was a hopeless romantic!

So I started to write and record Love Ballads. I really knew in my heart that this was my true calling," he says. The response was so great that every one who did not know me that heard my music was asking, "When will this be available?" Thus began the musical career of Stan The Man! Stan grew up listening to Al Jarreau, George Benson, and Luther Vandross. So if you hear their influences in his music, it''s because that''s who he is. You could say that he''s a Breath of Fresh Air, and maybe thats why they call him Stan The Man and there will be a lot more of that good stuff coming from Stan The Man!
