This CD was created in honour of Chief Joseph, born Heinmot Toajalaket (Thunder Rolling Down the Mountain)Leader of the Nez Perce tribe, who was forced by the US Government to leave his native land and my own experience of seeing the spirit of a medicine man in Brockwell Park, South London, which led me to walking barefoot in honour of Chief Joseph.
Chief Joseph and his tribe walked hundreds of miles on their quest to freedom. All the way the were pursued by the US Calvary and finally caught 40 miles from the Canadian border.
On surrendering Chief Joseph stated: ''I will fight no more forever''.
In chains he was sent off to an inhospitable reservation 200 miles away from his native land, where, according to the reservation doctor, he died of a broken heart.
