Details:
Loyal fans anticipating the arrival of STATEPARK''s "Send To: A Heart Convalescent" in the fall of 2006 expected a raw mixture of mellow acoustic harmonies guiding unpolished vocals encapsulating the decadent desires of an abandoned heart as featured in key songs “Countless” and “Pink and Black,” but project mastermind Eric Mackey pushed the release date back to 2009 in order to strike a deeper chord with his audience.

Listeners weren’t left empty handed, however, with teaser tracks leaked on MySpace and PureVolume alongside an array of merchandise and photos demonstrating not only Mackey’s unrelenting effort as an aspiring artist but also his dynamic devotion to every creative aspect involved. Dedicating an additional two years to the album enhanced Mackey’s musical capacity through the discovery of edgy, electronic elements which in turn, fueled a theme as revolutionary as STATEPARK’s novel style.

Searching for exposure, STATEPARK hit up a variety of venues ranging from his college campus at Northwest Missouri State University to performances in the KC area, but it wasn’t until the “Fish In A Tree” concert that his true potential unleashed shock-waves of support. Beyond aiding countless hours in the development of visual choreography for his set, Mackey spent numerous nights lending a technical hand in event set-up not to mention boldly committing himself as head-coordinator of the promotional process by designing, distributing and funding flyers for the show.

His audacious efforts didn’t go unnoticed, with STATEPARK drawing his curious crowd inches from the stage to experience a powerful performance nothing short of breathtaking. Retaining his indie-inspired image, Mackey grips his guitar and flashes the crowd a fierce grin before introducing his audience to his electronic orchestra beautifully blending uplifting synth amidst diabolical percussion that surges the hearts and minds of listeners into a state of magnetic enchantment.

Captivated by “The Big Theatre” were the eyes and ears of eager hearts who dared to take a ride on STATEPARK’s ferris wheel of fate but soon became paralyzed by Mackey’s mysteriously honest performance. His sea of stories conveys an internal battle between man and machine which is illuminated by the effervescent glow of emotions packed into each brilliant composition. In STATEPARK’s upcoming release, expect harmonic expressions to gracefully rise and sweep away enigmatic choruses as elegantly as each daring track transitions forward. While his progressive performance offers the opportunity for audiences to unravel a profound insight weaved within his words, he ultimately delivers a polished package intended only for hearts which can handle the truth.
