If you have come to this page, maybe you''re a little like me: you miss Frank; you miss Mel; you may even miss Dino. Me, I miss them all, and Perry too.

I''m not going to make you forget those guys. But I will claim this much kinship: Like those guys, I respect the lyric and the melody, pitch and tone and enunciation. These are all beautiful songs and I''m not going to improvise that beauty right out of them. I work with first-rate musicians and I attend to every detail of recording, mixing, mastering, and production.

Since you''re kind enough to drop by, let me offer you a little tour, see if there''s something on the record that strikes a spark:

DINDI is a gorgeous Jobim ballad with a fine arrangement by Lloyd Wilson and great playing by Lloyd and the trio, joined by guitar virtuoso Bobby Broom. Bobby''s aching rubato solo conjures up a beauty silhouetted against a Rio sunset.

MY ONE AND ONLY LOVE may be the most romantic standard ever written. Mark Colby''s tenor sax steers way clear of the smooth-jazz cliches

That''s violinist Zachary Brock living in your right channel in ALL OR NOTHING AT ALL. You''ve never heard any solo instrument punctuate jazz changes like Zach does on this recording. And Lloyd''s hard, hard swinging walk-the-dog solo, which tells you exactly how it has got to be, is my single favorite passage on the album.

All right, dammit -- it''s my record, and I get to do a Beach Boys song if I want. DON''T TALK is a Brian Wilson/Tony Asher beauty from "Pet Sounds" that sends a thrill down my spine every time I hear it. Young lovers hidden by the night, the darkness gathering and roaring in their ears as the blood rises.

EMPTY TABLES is one of the great melancholic saloon songs. I have only encountered two other recordings of it: its co-composer Johnny Mercer, and Sinatra.

It''s just me and Bobby Broom''s jazz guitar on TILL THERE WAS YOU. Listen to this one in the dark.

I just flat love MAXINE. Lloyd''s muscular Hammond B-3 work makes this the coolest song on the record.

HERE, THERE, AND EVERYWHERE: It''s the familiar Beatles tune, but Lou Nigra''s guitars reveal the song''s hopeful melancholy. My theory of this song is in the liner notes, so you gotta buy the record.

JUST AS THOUGH YOU WERE HERE: I wanted to do one sad song, and this is one of the saddest.

ALL MY TOMORROWS I was fortunate enough to have maestro Peter Ballin contribute those wonderful flute fills and an absolutely perfect soprano sax solo.

Donald Jackson''s upright gets THE SONG IS YOU off to a hard-swinging start, and the party really gets going when Lloyd and Donny DeMarco, Jr., jump in. We had some fun with this one.

"WHEN I HAVE SUNG MY SONG TO YOU" is a beautiful recital piece composed by Ernest Charles in 1937. I chose to record it a capella because I pictured the singer literally singing at his beloved''s door, as the lyrics suggest.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the record. Drop me a line and let me know.
