"Misty Days," Rubin''s first professionally produced CD, is scheduled for release late June 2003 (JJB Music). JJB Music was founded late summer of 2002 by Rubin, his brother/executive producer Douglas, and friend/producer Stephen R. Duhart. Duhart brought together a selection of some of today''s most impressive studio musicians to complete the "Misty Days" sound. In addition to the members of The Steve Rubin Band, Duhart added the talents of drummers Vinnie Colaiuta and Colin Chambers, bassist and sound engineer Arthur Barrows, keyboardist Troy Stone, saxophonist Ronnie Crumbly, accordion player Gil Goldstein and background vocals by Terri Macon and Judith Walton.

Born in Syracuse, New York, Rubin was raised in Los Angeles since the age of one. With four brothers and one sister in his immediate family, young Rubin didn''t have far to look for entertainment. After picking up his brother''s discarded guitar, Rubin seemed to have found his place in the world and with self-driven determination, he never looked back. Rubin studied guitar and piano informally and spent hours at a time listening to his favorite group, the Allman Brothers Band. Rubin said, "the first time I heard Duane Allman play slide guitar, I felt moved forever to continue on my guitar playing path."

But Rubin''s greatest thrill was not limited to guitar performance alone. As an adolescent, he worte his first song. Moved by the emotions he felt for the first girl he ever had a crush on, Rubin wrote "Blonde Haired Girl." Ever since that first song, he found writing songs made his pulse race. He said, "I can''t wait to finish one so that I can start another. Creating a song out of nothing is the greatest thrill; finishing one is a total rush."

Rubin''s college years were spent at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he managed to drag his guitar around with him everywhere he went. He wrote quite a collection of songs during his college years and performed for anyone who would listen. Rubin''s songwriting skills continued to develop and became more and more sophisticated. Rubin''s smooth new folk, rock, pop musical sound was influenced early on by some of his favorite artists, such as James Taylor, Carlos Santana, Joni Mitchell and the Allman Brothers.

Rubin recently shot a DVD to coincide with the release of his upcoming single entitle "Live To Ride." He hopes to include the song on his next recording. "Live to Ride" is a tribute to the Harley-Davidson motorcycle. A copy of the DVD was sent to the famed motorcycle company and hopefully with their blessing, Rubin will soon be able to assault and delight the senses of the Harley nation with his new song.

Still a resident of Los Angeles, California, Rubin''s favorite charities are Heal The Bay and the Foundation for the Junior Blind. He currently plans to share the proceeds from sales of "Misty Days" with the Foundation for the Junior Blind.
