I am a full-time professor of geology at Colorado College, but have been a serious musician all my life. This CD “Drove to Wichita” was recorded in Austin, Texas at Oxford Street Studios. It features a number of great artists:
* Barry “Frosty” Smith on drums. He played with Sly and the Family Stone, Lee Michaels, and many other national acts.
* Backup singer Maryann Price on the title track. She sang with the Kinks, Asleep at the Wheel, and Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks.
* East Texas piano player Derek Morris plays New Orleans style upright piano on two tracks.
* Well-known Austin musician Mac McNabb plays numerous instruments.
I have another CD that I recorded back in 1994, and it can be purchased from me directly.
