MP3 zelazowa - Elephants on a Mousehunt

There is much here that is a respectful nod to pre-Gen X classic rock and punk, but there is also a wonderfully resilient amalgamation of grunge and emo that is so tightly welded to their desire to rock that the sound is surprisingly original.

Details:
As champions of the “do it yourself” work ethic, ZELAZOWA independently released its debut album "Rest Easy" in February 2005, and within one year’s time matured from a local buzz band into a couch dwelling, Ramen-starved touring machine.

On the strength of the band’s grassroots booking and promotions, ZELAZOWA’s “Rest Easy” tour quickly grew from a 30 day/30 city stint into a permanent venture, providing the band an unprecedented 220 show U.S. tour for 2006. “Rest Easy” received radio airplay on over 250 commercial and college stations coast-to-coast and collected rave reviews in some of the nation’s top periodicals.

Along ZELAZOWA’s never-ending journey, the band’s live show invoked similarly sparkling acclaim, winning them opening slots for Jimmy Chamberlin Complex (Smashing Pumpkins), The Queers, and Year Long Disaster, and earning the group the promotional support of Sam Ash Music, Origivation Magazine, and Bastard on Wheels clothing line. Cincinnati City Beat writes of ZELAZOWA, “You have to see them live to appreciate the exquisite heaviness of it all.” In fact, based on the strength of the quartet’s thrashing live set and impressive resume, Ship King Media chose ZELAZOWA as the subject of their 2007 documentary, “What They Want Us to Be, We Can’t Always Be,” a film chronicling the life of an unsigned, independently touring American rock band.

In September 2006, after nine months of U.S. touring, ZELAZOWA returned to the studio to record the four track EP “Polymorph,” with Grammy winning producer John Seymour. Amplifier Magazine writes of the disc, “Akin to all great bands past and present, this Philadelphia quartet has honed their craft on the road, and it’s no surprise that this blistering EP exudes the vehemence of a live performance.” “Polymorph” not only captured the intensity of the group’s live show, but inevitably broke the Billboard Top 200 six months later as the band prepared to depart for a second European tour.

In June 2008, ZELAZOWA receded into the trenches of a Nashville studio and began work on their sophomore album, “Elephants on a Mousehunt”. The record is scheduled for release on January 17, 2009.

Great prospects lay ahead.
