Seeing her perform live reminds you a little of the confronting Chrissie Amphlett from the great Aussie rock band of the 80''s/90''s -The Divinyls, with her sassy and sexual poise.
And then there''s the voice: Earthy, rich, dynamic and big. You can hear those old soul influences like Etta James oddly coupled with an English/Aussie accent which only makes for a more biting and honest portrayal of the compositions.
Susan was born in Perth, Australia - to an impoverished single parent family. She was raised on music as her preservation and became a child star singing and performing weekly on national television at the age of 7.

Susan has spent time recording in New York and LA, and relocated to the UK in 1999. 4 years spent in London is obvious on her 4th EP ''Star''. Influences from Goldfrapp, Richard X are not too distant from the sound although ''Star'' was produced and recorded in Melbourne Australia with Doug Brady at the helm (Kylie Minogue/John Farnham), the toughness Susan learnt from
childhood is ever present.
There''s simply not enough strong & sexy rock chicks out there that can bring a universal pop appeal to the package. So I''m proud to see that Australia has produced a talent that has all these elements, with a voice that can really deliver the goods when it''s warranted.
