Marc Supsic is a self-taught 33 year-old musician that lives in the Philadelphia suburbs. He spent most of his younger years striving for rock stardom, but eventually realized that the bills had to be paid, and he was tired of putting up with the litany of conflicts that came along with the music industry.
He achieved small-time success as guitarist, backup singer, and multi instrumentalist for indie-pop band Jades Parlor in the late ''90s. Marc also gained experience as a studio engineer and producer as he worked with the band on their four albums. Eventually Jades Parlor became something of a studio band, cutting their last recording with Indie label MUDWAX Records in 1998. Jades Parlor broke up and Marc went on to form The Rainland with drummer Will Lafferty. After one album, the band broke up in 2001.
In Late 2001, Marc began recording on his own, marking his first time as a lead vocalist. Recent changes in his life, including being dumped, professional therapy and sobriety (relatively speaking) gave him plenty of songwriting content. By Summer of 2002, the musician had an album''s worth of material and decided to release a few MP3s on the Internet. CMJ and Dick Clark Productions picked up on the material and nominated Marc into the Top 50 for the American Music Award''s "New Music Award." Though he did not win, this recognition gave Marc the validation he needed to continue as a solo musician. The Two Sides CD was officially released in October 2002.
Satisfied for the time, Supsic took almost three years off to spend some time with his new wife, new home and develop other hobbies.
