Chris Swinney was born on the English side of the border with Scotland at Berwick upon Tweed, U.K.
He started to get seriously into music in the early 1970s -listening to The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Lindisfarne and anything of a melodic nature.
By the mid-1970s he was playing locally in various bands doing covers and some of his own material but eventually decided it would be best to branch out on his own. This initially led to solo gigs but in the mid-1980s, when home recording equipment became more affordable, Chris found he was much more comfortable with writing, recording and producing his own songs. This in turn led to many of his songs being published and eventually Chris found the time to do what was most important to him musically - record his own album of songs.
The new album, "Was it something I said?" is inspired by things that really happened to Chris and the tracks range from love ballad, through straight rock, to Chris finally getting things off his chest!
Fans of the likes of The Beatles, Michael Penn, Squeeze, ELO and Del Amitri would do well to give this a listen.
With the new album now available, Chris is looking forward to starting work on songs for his next album in 2005.
