SIXTEEN LAYERS is the band to watch for 2009 with the release of their debut single NO STRINGS from their forthcoming album I AM NO ONE.
I AM NO ONE is a self-produced killer rock album – 11 songs, no fillers – to be released on March 4th 2009. The album was recorded last year in Grouse Lodge (Co Westmeath), Sawmills Studios (Cornwall) and in Sixteen Layers’ own studio on James’ St, Dublin 8. Production credits also include Jim Lowe (Foo Fighters, Charlatans, Stereophonics) who worked with the band in England last summer.
SIXTEEN LAYERS is a four-piece rock band from Dublin. They have been playing together since 2006. Live performances include supporting Paddy Casey (Dublin’s Olympia Theatre and Dolan’s Warehouse, Limerick) and headlining their own shows in The Mezz, Radio City and most recently, The Button Factory to packed audiences.
In September 2007 SIXTEEN LAYERS participated in, and won, the Dublin leg of Bodog Battle of the Bands. The band then had to relinquish this opportunity as they soon signed both publishing and recording contracts. “SIXTEEN LAYERS were first up today. They set the bar as high as it could go. Their single for download SETTING FIRES reached #1 on the Phantom FM Playlist and still receives substantial airplay to date.
On July fourth last, SIXTEEN LAYERS’ single TORCH got international release on the Independents’ Day 08 Album. That summer saw SIXTEEN LAYERS play brilliant shows in London, Manchester, New York and Dublin.
Since then, all focus has been on the finishing of their brilliant debut album –
