Deeper is the first single from A Deep Six Holiday, the long awaited full length debut from Sheriff Scabs.
Deeper is a Science-Fiction love song with a twist of goverment politics and betrayal. Inspired by the Philip K. Dick novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, Sheriff Scabs writes from the point of view of a human fallen in love with a replicant. It is an epic six minute piece that builds to a destructive earth shattering climax, not too dissimilar from the Blade Runner movie which the same story inspired.
The b-side Doppelganger is another disfuncional love story about a man in search for the perfect woman. But low and behold, a perfect mate cannot be found. So he builds a female version of himself, since he feels he is the closest thing to what he''s looking for.
In the end we find out it''s all a metaphor for masterbation.
The final song, I Let Love In, is a cover version of the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds classic.
