I am Michael Plaatje (pronounced Platt Jay). I have been playing country music since 1963. For 2 years, my grandfather and I played just for fun. We won a local talent contest and I was asked to play for a well known band called the "Nashville sound" in 1965. From 1966 to 1972, I was performing 7 nights a week in 3 bands: The Country Kings, The Bounty Hunters and the Mountain Airs.
