Details:
Producer/Guitarist Allen Towbin creates cutting edge textures and rhythms using samples, loops and synthesizers while bassist Ernie Adzentoivich unleashes a vast array of subsonic sounds. Drummer Tobias Ralph emulates the stuttering rhythms and hypnotic pulse of a drum machine while improvising with an organic, human feel on acoustic drums.

The trio exploded onto the NYC music scene in early 1999. They were the only band in this DJ based circuit that could play live drum''n''bass in a way that truly emulated the sounds that DJ''s were spinning.

Plexus became the resident band at The Izzy Bar in NYC during the run of their Wednesday night Drum''n''bass party Deep Trax for over a year. Using the contacts made here as a spring board, Plexus began performing at other NYC venues like Wetlands and The Lunatarium, and was soon able to expand outside of NYC.

Over the past year they have performed up and down the East coast from Atlanta to Boston, playing with bands like The New Deal, The Disco Biscuits, Lake Trout, Sector Nine, Actual Proof, and Kudu. Currently with monthly residencies in Boston, Baltimore, and New Haven, CT, the band is building an East Coast fan base.

Plexus has found a niche forging a bridge between the jam band and rave scenes, attracting young devoted fans. Like a DJ, Plexus gets the crowd dancing and keeps them moving by creating a continuous set of music. In addition, they find fans among an older, more sophisticated, urban audience.

Their collaboration with composition professor Ran Blake of The New England Conservatory, heard on the new release, utilizes rich harmony and complex rhythm beyond anything usually heard in dance music genres.
