Vancouver and landed his first break after being chosen as a finalist for CFOX’s
Demo Listen Contest which got 3 songs on the locally released compilation album
local radio play on the station and shows opening for the likes of Nickelback and
Barstool Prophets.

Blair soon left the rock scene behind him but not the songwriting and
performing – his first solo EP, “Songs of Love and Introspection” gained him many
songwriting awards such as from the Billboard World Songwriting Competition and
many more.

Blair showcased his music at several World Music Festivals and then released his
first solo album in the summer of 2007. Blair since then has toured across North America from NY to Toronto, to La Playing in Venues such as the Viper room and the House of Blues in Hollywood. – The album picked up the “Best Contemporary Album’ award and received runner up for the Best Adult Contemporary Male Artist” for the Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards 2008.

David has not slowed down at all. His next album “Things Left Unsaid” is set to Release February 2009. Full of energy Blair will be setting across British Columbia Alberta in February & March to launch this release”. Blair with his smooth sounds and energy filled performances will be lighting up the stage. The Tour launches February 20th at the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver, BC and ends March 20th.

“I find David''s songs compelling. They are full of strong intelligent lyrics creating wonderful images and heartfelt moods, all driven by catchy musical hooks with simple but very good arrangements. I am a believer that no one delivers a song quite like the writer and David is singing proof of that."
- DALE RUSSELL – former guitarist/songwriter for THE GUESS WHO

Song Stories!! :)

This Is The Soundtrack – So many times there are moments that are happening right in front of you that are completely indescribable, and you can’t believe that you are lucky enough to even feel that way – some might describe something like that as falling in love – I might tend to agree – so when there’s a chance that you might lose that feeling – I think there’s nothing wrong with fighting to hold onto it with all your might! This is my fight for love! 

You Make Me OK – I really, really liked a girl….and I never could really tell her how I felt due to my own awkward tendencies – but somehow whenever I had the phone in my hand and I was contemplating calling her – her name would show up on the call-display right in front of me and she could always find words when I was missing them….

Thing Called Love – There’s a song called Call Me Irresponsible – by Bobby Darin – one of my child-hood heroes and favourite artists that I listened to while growing up – and the song is all about a guy that’s unreliable, undependable and hopelessly crazy for a girl! Love really doesn’t make sense but that’s probably what makes it so magical, which is why Call Me Irresponsible sums my song up so succinctly.

Hurts So Hard – I’m a sensitive dude – surprise, surprise…someone I was close to hurt my feelings and kept doing so in a mean way and I couldn’t understand why and didn’t even know how to react til much later….sniff

I’ve Been Hiding – Figuring little things about myself allows me to laugh at myself and accept things about me….maybe one day she’ll find me…

I Want To Fall – I was in a movie theatre waiting for the movie to start when I was suddenly struck with this melody in my head and all I could sing to it was ‘I want to fall in la la looove’! Maybe my subconscious was trying to tell me something…

London Is Calling – Roughly 3 years ago I left my day job and everything that was comfortable in my life for a dream that I’m still in pursuit of. Inspired by a friend of mine that left here years ago for London, England there’s a lot of parallels to my own life.

Right From The Start – Faith and trust from my friends in everything that I do is probably one of the most valuable commodities in my life… I really appreciate that.

I Will Guess You – From my humble observation, women want to be understood but not figured out. This is a line you cannot cross and they will make sure of it – so you men out there just keep on guessing and hope that she feels understood enough of the time to keep you around.

Finally Feeling – I was on a plane from Toronto to Vancouver and there in the cubby hole they call a seat – this song wouldn’t leave me alone…. I thought it was a Beatles song – thankfully it was all mine! Winston, the producer on the album, is heavily influenced by the Beatles and John Lennon in particular so you can hear some of that in this song.

It Might Come True – When I was just a little boy my mom would sing a Lawrence Welk song called Goodnight, Goodnight to me and it always made me feel warm inside – this lullaby was inspired by that feeling…the bridge was another ‘Beatles’ moment from my producer – taking me back to Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band’s sounds…

Nothing Left To Prove – When there is no doubt in your mind that you will be with someone forever and that person can do no wrong – right at the moment – that’s what this song is all about! Oh ya loooove baby!
