Shapes, sizes, the scope of life…it’s all without measure especially when you’re referring to happiness, joy, pain, heartbreaks, ability, desire, talent, potential or even love. Some things in life will never fall within our standard rubrics of measurement. It would be impossible to measure eternity, success, or one’s determination according to length, height, depth, or any other form of quantity. When I started this project I had limited resources, limited knowledge, limited funds, limited EVERYTHING except for a burning passion (a passion that burns so deep and leaves me restless when I do not release it). This project is an inspirational testimony of my progression without measure. To start without anything then to grow in ways that can not be measured or understood is what faith and persevering is about. Every song on this album comes from a place within me that suggests we trust our abilities and gifts that God has given us and continue to press toward improvement in the building of ourselves, our children, our communities. So now we have two meanings for a simple word: “without” can represent not having at all or having an abundance that is too great to measure, box in or limit. I hope you elect the second choice as I have. Enjoy the sounds of my soul!
