Acoustic rock via guitar, vocals, violin, and hand percussion-this is TRM. Three guys with completely different musical backgrounds and influences have combined pop, classical, and jam-band into one sound - creating a band unlike any other and a live show you don''t want to miss.

TRM (Taylor Roberts, Mark Nippert, Brian Tavener) recorded and released Show and Tell in the Spring of 2003, an EP of five songs, two new arrangements of songs off of Roberts'' 2002 solo album, Picture the Scene, and three brand new tunes. Fans raved, albums were sold, and the trio began playing more and more shows as the year came to an end.

But then something happened. The live shows took on a whole new quality-Roberts began belting new ranges and breaking two strings per show, Nippert went wireless and started playing electric violin while standing on furniture, and Tavener pounded percussion lines that would normally require four arms. The band realized that they had found their sound.

Now, TRM has returned from four months in the studio to bring you their first full-length album, This Weather. With the new 11-track triumph, Taylor Roberts Music plans to continue touring up and down the East coast, and eventually nationwide. Listening rooms, bars, clubs, universities, and amphitheaters alike can only hope to contain the passion and experience of TRM''s live performance. Taylor Roberts Music... It''s gonna be a great show.

What happens when three guys with totally different musical backgrounds find themselves in need of roommates?

Taylor Roberts Music

Taylor Roberts Music, often called TRM, had its early beginnings when Taylor Roberts, a well-known Raleigh-based songwriter, needed someone to share a house with, preferably someone who could tolerate and might actually enjoy music at all hours of the day and night. Taylor called up Brian Tavener, a friend of a friend who also needed a new home. While meeting one afternoon to scope each other out as roommates, they decided to jam for a bit with Taylor on guitar and Tavener on bass. As he was about to leave, Taylor said, "Hey, man, why don''t you play that drum thing over there?" That drum thing was a djembe, and Taylor dug Tav''s percussion skills so much that he became a fixture at Taylor''s shows starting the very next month.

Enter Mark Nippert, a software guy who was classically trained in violin and, incidentally, Taylor''s roommate during and after college. Whether it was a conscious decision or merely a moral obligation to make him feel better about himself, Taylor invited Nippert to jam one night at rehearsal. Lo and behold, it actually sounded good, and when Tavener nearly jumped through a window in his excitement at this new sound, Taylor was convinced. Mark had to be in the band.

After repeated requests from fans that the trio release an album with this unique lineup, Taylor Roberts Music recorded "Show and Tell," a fantastic blend of killer songwriting and energetic arrangements, and folks got happy! So happy, in fact, that the more TRM wrote and performed, the more folks wanted, prompting the release of 2004''s "This Weather," a full-length funfest of TRM''s one-of-a-kind sound. And we all know what happens next... they hit the road. So check out https://www.tradebit.com for the latest on tour dates, pics, and good ol'' TRM fun.
