Brandon Burks grew up in Gulfport, MS. One of eight children, Brandon was deeply influenced by his mother, a singer and his father, a drummer. By age ten Brandon had taught himself to play Beethoven and other classical compositions on the piano. At the same time he was also developing his own distinctive pop music vocal style. During his teen years Brandon developed a strong passion for R&B and became influenced by the music of Prince, Steve Wonder, Brian McNight, Joe Thomas, and Babyface.
As a youth Brandon won a number of local talent shows and became a member of several R&B groups. However, Brandon quickly moved beyond these groups and explored his own personal musical passion. Brandon''s musical passion and talent led to his being hired to sing hooks for rap songs and to produce beats for many local rap artists and singers.
In addition to writing and producing for others Brandon continued to develop his own style. Passionate to share his music with others, he recorded a solo album of his own. The success of his first album led to many opportunities such as becoming the opening act for performances of platinum R&B artists such as Tank and KC & JoJo.
Brandon has just released his new album and is working on a national tour package for 2009.
