Details:
Recorded during college, Jess'' first CD was originally intended as just a demo. It was recorded live in a single session in a studio in Nova Scotia, giving it a unique sound. When put to print after much encouragement, we couldn''t keep these things on the shelves. So, we''ve finally put them online, 3 years later.

WINTER 2009 BIOGRAPHY:
Jess Clemons is a touring singer/songwriter based in Burlington, Vermont and Nantucket, Massachusetts. She is the recent winner of the 2008 Burlington Acoustic Singer/Songwriter Contest, the 2nd place winner in the Flat Rock Music Festival''s Songwriter Contest (Sept. 2007), and this fall toured with the cross-Canada Babes For Breasts Tour, a non-profit collective of female singer/songwriters using their voices to raise funds and bring awareness about breast cancer across Canada. She has had her music featured on several compilations, including this year''s MVY Radio''s "Fresh Produce Vol. 5" along with the likes of Carley Simon and Tift Merritt. She''s shared stages with the Lovell Sisters, Ryan Montbleau Band, Mike Gordon, Rose Cousins, Craig Cardiff, and Canadian rockers Wintersleep, The Trews, and Joel Plaskett, among others.

Jess considers herself new to songwriting, but you might not guess it after hearing a few of her soul-filled songs delivered with her gutsy, smokey voice. Born and raised in the mountains of Vermont, schooled on the coast of Nova Scotia, Jess currently resides on a houseboat off of Nantucket Island when she''s not touring. She weaves contemplative, timeless songs involving love, lost love, life on the water, and life on the road. At 24, this Vermont native has self-released two independent records, toured across Canada and the US, travelled through South and Central America, and completed a bachelor''s degree in Canada. She plays everything from livingrooms to festivals, and recently filled Nova Scotia''s Al Whittle Theater for her band''s CD release show in February, 2007.

Her songs are personal. She spills what most people might keep to their journals, and in doing so, captivates audiences wherever she goes. She’s got a knack for songs that tell a personal story, without losing their global appeal. For as long as she can remember, Jess has tinkered away at the piano. For college, she moved to Nova Scotia to study piano and voice at Acadia University, where she really found her own playing style. She sometimes spent entire nights in practice rooms, plugging away at songs that gained the attention of her college community and started to build what has become a solid, active fan base. Her band, "The Cooperative", helped her win the 2006 Battle of the Bands at her school, and backed her up on two independently released CD''s in 2005 and 2007.

Jess is currently playing solo nationwide and in Canada.
