Terrance and portia are a brother /sister duo. They have been singing together since their early childhood days. Their father "James McCurdy" is the author of the famous song, "when the Spirit of the Lord." Otherwise known as, "Dance like David."
In 2004 they became the founders of “For His Glory Music,” in the City of Oakland California along with Portia’s husband, Pastor Steven Sumner. Terrance and Portia are original songwriters of Christian inspirational praise and worship songs that are quickly sweeping the Nation. As one of the praise and worship teams of Shiloh Church in Oakland they are becoming known for the prophetic song. The prophetic song is a song down loaded from heaven written in a moment of prophetic teaching and or preaching.
Terrance & Portia have lead praise & worship for numerous churches in the bay area and abroad. Including Cindy Jacobs for God TV. Pastor Paul Sheppard Abundant life Church in Mountain View California.
After the September 11th tragedy in New York Portia wrote the song, “Out of the Ashes, “ This became the title song on the “Heal our nation” CD for Maranatha Music which was picked up by Franklyn Grams Ministry and delivered to every victims family. The song “Out of the Ashes was sung by a six thousand member choir in Madison Square Garden a year after the September 11th tragedy.
Also in 2004, “For his Glory Music” published the CD, “Unstoppable God.” Several songs including,“I am desperate for you,” “Unstoppable God,” “Covered by the blood,” and “I declare I do” have already been recorded by other artist.
In 2008 For His Glory Music published, “One warm coat for Christmas” to help raise money and coats for the National foundation, “One warm coat.” Good Morning America has showed interest in the song and has asked for rights to air it in future coat drives.
Now for 2009 For His Glory Music presents the long awaited CD, “For the fact that He rose.” Worship God with us as we sing for an audience of One. Terrance & Portia are not performers. They are worshipers. Worship is not what we do it is our life style. We have been called inspirational, healing, Gospel artist. The most important thing to us is that you would hear and see Jesus in our music.
