The music is better than the artwork, and in this case that''s really saying something. For people in a hurry, check out "Insatiable Man," "Timing" or "Fish" first. Also check out the self-titled album "Thirstin'' Howl." Very different sounding albums, both first class productions.
When Fish was released it was reviewed in the now defunct "The Rocket" music magazine. Here''s what the reviewer had to say:

On "Out of the Darkness," Thirstin'' Howl''s pete Langhans demonstrates his propensity as a skilled pianist. It is the first of many tracks from Fish underscored by willowy piano interludes that intertwine seamlessly with a taut rhythm section, contributing immensely to the instrumental/inspirational vibe Fish emanates -- call it easy listening with bite!
"Passion" extols the breadth of soulful passion, depicting how harsh our little ol'' world would be if we were all relegated to 9-5 lives, as if keeping our day jobs meant losing all artistic ingenuity. Dave Simpson proves his guitar is working fine, thank you, going a guitar odyssey in "Passion," but nothing overblown, even when the lyrics skirt that fine line between profundity and cliche. "Insatiable Man" is a progressive, aching love song that iterates the gnawing, gut-wrenching heartbreak that infiltrates even the most sensible heads following a nasty break-up, besmirching a clear mind with thoughts of insurmountable heartache. Fortunately, Howl have put the heartache in the head of a man, making this track even sweeter.
