CARA are back from three tours of the United States – and all being very successful ones!
Almost every single concert finished with standing ovations from the crowd. CARA played the main stages of some of America’s finest and biggest folk festivals, and shared the stage with such great bands as Dervish, Altan, Beoga, Cherish The Ladies. The majority of promoters re-booked the band immediately after the tour, something that according to „Real Good Music“ (booking for CARA, Téada, Beoga, Gráda, Slide et al..) doesn’t happen very often in this business. Especially if the re-bookers are such well-known venues as „The Birchmere“ in Alexandria, VA, where Marc Cohn, Compay Segundo, Jerry Douglas and Solas are regular visitors! So these tours were a huge success and a major step for the band. Everybody is really excited. So the expectations are high for the next US tour in August 2009.
In October 2007, CARA embarked on their yearly autumn tour and filmed the gig at their beloved Arsenaal Theatre in Vlissingen, NL for a Live-DVD. This DVD/CD-combo was released in April 2008 to great critical acclaim.
Also, latest news is that CARA has just been voted as one of the 10 best and most influential folk bands of the past decade by Folkworld-Magazine, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary!! The CD "In Between Times" was nominated for the prestigious "price of the
german record reviewers" and for "CD of the year" by "Folker!", Germany''s Folk MagazineNo. 1.
