Details:
Galloping out of the stables and racing into the music industry, Thorobred is saturating the Louisville hip-hop scene with a style of music that is both diverse and infectious. Thorobred tore onto the music scene in 2003; since then Thorobred has been recognized by Velocity magazine as the new "mainstream music act" in Louisville - and has since headlined in distinctive night clubs such as Headliners Music Hall and Phoenix Hill Tavern. Thorobred capitalizes on a sundry assortment of lyrical talent - inspired by the individual experiences of each group member. The four-man group brings something different to the booth for each song. Bradley James, a Michigan native influenced by the likes of Eminem and Outkast, brings a dynamic lyrical style to the booth, helping listeners visualize the story as it unfolds over sixteen bars. C-Tilley, hailing from the bluegrass, is a multifaceted lyricist encouraged by the talent of Ray Charles - he can speak with a rugged southern twang but is versatile enough to sing the chorus on many of the tracks. Vic-DeMone, a native of Louisiana with an ear for musical talent, further expands the sound of Thorobred with his deep south vibe and the ability to translate his mental visions into a poetically inspirational libretto. An offspring of California, Shawn B. conveys an introspective and intelligent style of rap similar to Andre 3000 and Wu Tang as he continues to expand the limits of the definition of hip-hop. Thorobred also experiments with non-traditional methods of creating hip-hop music. Many of the tracks from the upcoming album "Hear No Evil" are influenced by both country and rock & roll instrumental roots. This diversity allows Thorobred to create music without boundaries. Not only do they entertain the listener with music that can energize the party, but Thorobred takes on controversial political issues, they talk about love and constantly represent their grass roots.
