Formed in a cold basement on the Isle of Bute in Scotland as a wee teenage rock band, Chi Weapon have since re-located to Glasgow and evolved into one of the city''s most exciting new bands. Mixing many styles of music to create a funky brew the band have been wowing audiences in Glasgow at venues like King Tuts as well as throughout Britain, including the famous Wickerman Festival and the Carling Academy in Islington, London.
Chi Weapon''s first recording was the Right Prescription EP in 2003. This showcased their evolving funk style with live favourite ''The Right Prescription'' as well as the rich melody of ''As You Like It''. The EP became a cult classic in Scotland with those in the know coming to Chi Weapon''s regular shows throughout their home country.
Fast-forward to now and Chi Weapon is still in rude health. During 2008 Chi Weapon spent some time in the beautiful surroundings of Loch Fyne recording their debut album, which they then completed in various rehearsal rooms and bedrooms. The album is called ''Power Up'' and shows how far Chi Weapon has come. This is a passionate, vibrant and vital album. Why ''vital''? Because it shows one of the funkiest bands in Scotland showing that they know how to write catchy songs like ''Power Up'' that you won''t forget anytime soon. The album features ''Cycling In Glasgow'' - a song that will take you through the insanity of Sauchiehall St on a Saturday night and then drop you into a beautiful dub-inspired ocean.
