Details:
Neon Show was recorded during winter 2001. Following the success of two EPs, Watch (1999) and There And Somewhere Here (2000), Compliments of Gus wrote and recorded 14 brand new songs for their debut LP.
The album was recorded with Allan Neuendorf at Baker Street Studios in Melbourne, and mixed by Michael Letho. Neon Show saw the band spread their musical wings significantly from the two earlier EPs, including string quartets, horn sections, a choir, and additional production from Jarrad Rogers and Gavin Chan.
The band embarked on a month-long tour of Australia and New Zealand in support of the album, and released 6 radio singles: Girl, Sweep, La De Da, Heaven Knows, Faithful and Transparent.
Little known fact: the original booklet art for Neon Show is a monumental seamless image that rolls 16 pages.
