After years of playing guitar in various bands ranging from Metal, to Pop, to Rap, to Alternative, TJR AKA: Timothy John Ramirez came to the realization that the only way to get rock to the next level would be to go back to it''s roots, and then move forward.
To do this, TJR immersed himself in both playing and listening to the music of the pioneers of Rock (Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran), and Blues (BB King, Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker), before writing the songs for his debut album: Rip Roarin'' Rock ''n'' Roll
The result is a mix of cooler than thou vocals reminiscent of Elvis and Chris Issac, Bryan Setzer style guitar rhythms, Throw in a touch Eddie Van Halen / Johnny Lang Fretwork and toss in some Eric Clapton and Cream style Rockin'' Blues and you have a big cup of Rock''n'' Roll Revival. TJR receives OCMA nomination.
Orange County, CA - March 8th 2005 - Alternative Americana Rocker TJR has been honored with a nomination for Best Roots artist in the Orange County Music Awards (OCMA).
The awards will be presented April 2nd at the Grove Theater in Anaheim.
Live Magazine referred to TJR as, "The new Reverand of Rock''n''Roll and TJR''s current indie release "Mixed Emotions" has already received
