Details:
Since the early eighteenth century, members of the Passionist Community have been carrying Jesus’ message of peace to people throughout the world. At Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center in West Hartford, Connecticut, we believe that the sacred act of making music, itself, is ministry. Music has the power to transcend differences of age, class, gender and ethnicity to unite humanity in the love of God. We share the gift of music with you in the hope that it brings gladness and comfort to you and to all who hear it.
From its inception ten years ago, the music ministry at Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center has brought God''s peace to thousands of people. Your enjoyment of this music helps us to continue our important outreach to all who seek rest and God’s peace.
"Every Knee Shall Bend" is Holy Family’s first Christmas album which celebrates the birth of Jesus. In our life and ministry as Passionist priests, sisters, brothers, and laypersons, we see joy in the gift of God’s presence throughout the world and seek to proclaim that joy in many ways. We share with you this collection of music for Advent and Christmas as a means of keeping God’s promise alive in our own time. The selections range from Gregorian chant and newly arranged Christmas carols, to contemporary works in the styles taken from many traditions and cultures. It is our hope that these compositions and arrangements will inspire prayer, encourage peacemaking, and renew hope in the power of God’s saving presence.
