Biography
Jessie Primer, Jr. Is a native of Canton, Ms and a graduate of Alcorn State University where he received his Bachelor Degree. Primer served as Music Department Chair and director of Bands for the Canton Public Schools. He served in this capacity for many years. He is also a member of the chamber of commerce, Mississippi Band Masters Association, ASCAP, Grammy’s, Harry Fox Agency, and CEO of Yuric Records Inc. Primer has open shows for the great Ray Charles, B.B. King, Bobby Rush, James Brown, Lou Rawl Parade Of Stars. Primer has spent his life producing and making music. He has produced nine band directors who are know employed in the field of music. Primer received the key to the city of Canton, Ms and a proclamation proclaiming the Saturday before Labor Day as “ Jessie Primer, Jr. Hickory Street Heritage Festival Day”. A Blues Marker is placed on this street where Primer grew up as a kid shining shoes for a Quarter. Primer wrote song about this street. “ Dancin On Hickory Street ( The Hollow )”.Primer has recorded five CD Albums. Dancin’ On Hickory Street ( The Hollow ), Casino Ca Ching, Jessie Mae And War ( My Guitar ), Description, Obama Re - Mix 2008. Primer is still producing and helping others to find themselves in music.
