Live, tonepoet is a feast for all the senses, with lights and video playing as large a part in the show as the music itself.
In the studio, tonepoet is the most recent and most electronic manifestation of Zack Jordan, who has being creating music under various monikers for several years. He has been a part of, at one time or another: Zack and the Disciples of Groove, Soul Mechanical, lovegroove depthcharge, and Leaderdogs. Of all these groups, tonepoet is the most modern and the most diverse.
The recently-released tonepoet EP has been a long time coming. Clocking in at just under thirty minutes, it represents hundreds of hours in the studio. "A lot of people tend to take shortcuts in the studio, because studio time is expensive," says Jordan. "But there are advantages to actually working for a studio. In this case, it meant I could take my time and do it right. Seven months of pulling scattered all-nighters when the studio was closed is a long time, but I think it was worth it.
Previous works include: Nine Tracks of Sonic Bliss (2000), Variations on a Theme (2001), The Ministry of Chill (2002), and Soul Mechanical (2003).
