Modern Day Troubadour
T-Poe Nash sits alone on stage with a microphone and a spotlight. He strums his acoustic guitar and shares his music with the silent, watching audience beyond the stage. The songs are his--musical poetry T-Poe creates with all the love and care of a sculptor shaping a piece of granite or a photographer shooting an image. "My songs attempt to capture a moment," he says, describing his music. "I write and sing acoustic songs about life," he adds. "Love, pain, happiness, loss-these are the emotions that make up our lives. My songs are emotions set to music."
Among T-Poe''s most recent accomplishments are his appearances at such Nashville clubs as the Tin Roof, Third and Lindsey, and the Bluebird Cafe, where he has performed numerous times, playing and singing his original compositions. "I like the role of singer-songwriter," he says. "My songs are about the things everyday people go through in life. They''re about everyday life, everyday people."
The creation of a song for T-Poe usually begins with two or three chords on his guitar. "From there, the words come from my heart," he says, "They come from my soul, woven through the chords like threads in a piece of cloth." The result is a song about life-played and sung in T-Poe''s unique style. "I want to take people back to yesterday, when there was no hurt, or make them think about tomorrow, when things will be better."
Ever filled with the fire of love for music and the contributions he can make to it, T-Poe applies his talent to creating music that will mean something to the countless people who will hear it. "My music is changing my life," he reflects. He sees himself as a modern-day troubadour journeying on the road to a musical career. With each step along that road he moves closer to his ultimate destination-the fulfillment of his dream to write and sing and share his songs with others. "I write and sing for my fellow travelers through life," T-Poe says. Resolute, determined, T-Poe Nash follows his dream.
