If you have traveled through Western Canada then you have seen the great plains to the rockies. Flat lands that you can look upon for miles and miles, rolling foothills with grass covered hill sides, and rocky mountains that reach for the sky. You might say your in Redneck Country.
From small rural towns spread across the plains to the big city events and Stampedes you just might come across a group that will take you on a music journey down memory lane. This Cd album is filled with such journeys.
Like an artist who starts out with a canvas, he then paints a picture. With a stroke of their own brand of original music, whether its Country, Folk, Bluegrass or Rock, Vannatta have painted the pictures, with stories and melodies that will haunt you, make you laugh, touch your heart and make you dance.
Vannatta are no strangers to the Country Music scene with Back to Back Canadian Juno Nominatations for Canadian Country Group of the Year. They have performed many main stages shows such as, South & North Country Fairs, Big Valley (Craven Sask), Big Rocky Mountain Jamboree, David Thompson Bluegrass Fest, Pincher Creek & Willow Creek Cowboy Gathering, Calgary Stampede event, Chinook Rodeos, Private and Corporate functions, to Wedding Dances and Alberta Arts Touring Alliance functions. As well Vannatta have had tours in The Yukon(Northwest Territories), British Columbia, Sakatchewan and The Netherlands(Europe).

Larry Vannatta: Lead vocals, guitars, harps, and mandolin.
Bandleader Larry Vannatta put together his group Vannatta, in 2002 and has never looked back.
Larry was born in and raised in (Southern Alberta, Cluny), lives in Milo, Ab, the past 10 years.
Larry has played on Main stages with such acts as Waylon Jennings, Jason McCoy, Travis Tritt, Michael Wright, Ian Tyson,
Prairie Oyster, Marty Stuart, to the Beach Boys to name a few.
Big Rocky Mountain Jamborees, Alberta BC Cattlemen’s Asst, Dawson City Yukon, toured the Netherlands (Schoonhoven, Apeldoorn).
Larry is no stranger to the country music scene with his first group called Straight Clean & Simple, who recorded 5 Cd albums, all original songs penned by Larry, with 15 singles, 10 top 40 hits, 3 top ten hits in Canada, and received back to back Juno Nominations for Country Group of the year in Canada.
Bud Maynard: Vocals and base guitars.
Bud was also born in raised in (Southern Alberta, Cluny), has lived in Longview, Ab, for 20 years. Bud started writing songs back in the 1980’s then managed the O H Ranch for 18 years. He started writing songs again and recorded a 12 Cd with the Bunch Grass Group in 2000. Larry helped produce this Cd and now Bud has been playing and co-writing songs with Vannatta ever since. Some of buds many attributes are, being one of the few really working cowboys, which assist his strong song writing skills, along with his vocals and bass lines, he has really added another dimension to the sound of Vannatta.
Johnny Fraser: Vocals and Guitars.
Johnny was born and raised in (Southern Alberta, Empress), and has lived in Okotoks for 40 years.
Johnny has been playing music for over 35 years and started up his first group called, Sweet grass in 1974. He then joined the group Bob Cat Logic playing for local events in and around Calgary as well as the 1988 Olympics. Johnny joined up with Vannatta in 2003, performing in live events and studio recordings. Being a former professional hockey player, John has learned the aspects of team work, along with his strong harmonies, vocals, and lead guitars, John abilities have added to the sound of what Vannatta is today.
George Davidson: Drums and Vocals
George was born in (Saskatchewan, Inpawan). He moved to Calgary in 1966 and has lived there for 42 years.
George played with John Fraser in the groups called Sweet Grass and Bob Cat Logic for over 30 years.
He has a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of science degree from the university of Calgary in 1972.
In 2003, George joined up with Vannatta and has been performing live events, playing, drums, and percussion.
George is a great asset to Vannatta with his laid back attitude, his humour on the stage and his added percussions.
