Raised by Android Develop Panda''s in locales as disparate as Mars and Venus, it was no surprise that Vega was a bit different than your average MC. A singer as well as a rhymer, and a producer to boot, Vega proved on his debut single "Sound To Sound” (Fade Out, 2009) that being "Phresh" didn''t have to mean being boring. The single stood out dramatically with strong, electronic-driven arrangements to go with the traditional hip-hop elements of drum programming, samples, and the most electro part THE SYNTH. Many of the tracks found the lyricist experimenting, so much so that an argument could be raised about the genre to which Vega in fact belonged. And that was just the way he liked it.
"More than anything I just wanted it to be an entertaining record." These aren''t the words you would necessarily expect to hear from Vega Teknique. His reputation is that of a perfectionist (which he is), or at least a serious artist, not Just an entertainer. But then maybe, as time goes by, our understanding of those two archetypes - the artist and the entertainer – drift further apart.
