Details:
''VLCLEL'', an album of three compositions for violin, clarinet und electronics written during the years 1999 - 2002 represents the first publication by Viennese Label Aufstieg AV. ''Clarinet & 4 Oscillators'' playfully researches methods leaving behind plain repetition, of establishing accepted progression from one thing to another. ''Duplex'', based on a composition commissioned by Ballett Frankfurt, is an ever changing musical mobile for two instrumentalists and some electronics. ''Violin & Electronics'' concerns itself with new strategies in the creation of musical rules and their formalisation.
And above everything else, the three pieces do sound rather nice.

Weiping Lin - Violin
After a successful career in the youth divisions for music, winning several violin competitions in her native Taiwan, she decided aged fifteen on a move to Vienna to continue her violin studies with Dora Schwarzberg and Yair Kless.
Plenty of masterclasses/ Masterclasses aplenty (a.o with Zakhar Bron, Valery Klimov, Philippe Hirschhorn, Igor Oistrach, Igor Ozim, Gerhard Schulz, Abram Shtern and Edward Zienkowski) led to respectable successes at international competitions (Lipinski-Wienawski and Brahms) and to the position: section leader of the first violin at the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna (RSO Wien).
In the past couple of years Weiping Lin has concentrated on the interpretation of new music as well as music of the late last century. This she does as a soloist (amongst other compositions she premiered the violin concerto by Volkmar Klien, which is also dedicated to her) and as a chamber musician, playing in Ensembles that include ''Ensemble Modern'', ''die reihe'' and ''Zur Eisernen Zeit''.
