Guitarist Ron Barnett got his start in the music business during the 1970''s in Macon, Ga., where he took part in the experimental days of jazz-funk fusion. The legendary jam sessions at Grant''s Lounge provided the early inspiration for the improvisational possibilities he continues to explore. Ron played in backup bands for R&B artists including Percy Sledge, Clarence Carter and Candi Staton, working with musicians who had played with James Brown, Bobby Womack, John Lee Hooker and others. He now plays in a contemporary Christian band and records as a solo artist, playing guitar and keyboards.
