Details:
Tricky Redkin is an indie-pop duo based in Berkeley, CA. Their songs range from childlike and whimsical to wistful and melancholy. Their influences include early Beatles, Syd Barrett, Mazzy Star, the Sundays, though they sometimes describe themselves as a meeting of Belle & Sebastian and Mr. Rogers. "Once I Knew an Aardvark," their debut album, sounds like a psychadelic journey through a child''s mind. With a blend of acoustic and electric guitars, occasional strings, a range of percussion, and horns, the album evokes themes of love, innocence, and lonely circus creatures. Check out "It''s Possible," and "Hello mr. Squid." They are currently recording an EP of brooding and introspective songs, to be released in early Fall 2005.
