Sarah Brindell pays tribute to Freddie Hubbard with this new single, which was recorded on December 10th, 2008, less than three weeks before his passing. Combining the artistry of Yaure Muniz on flugelhorn, Mauricio Zottarelli on drums, Aaron Bellamy on bass, Amy Bowls on hammond organ, Yusaku Yoshimura on synthesizer, Jeff Lockhart on guitar, Cleveland Jones and Joy Daniels on vocals, Sarah Brindell uses her own piano/rhodes and vocal skills to arrange this classic jazz standard with a new twist, adding her own harmonic elements. The driving rhythm doesn''t quit, and the collage of musical colors is a breath of fresh air for jazz fusion, as well as a genuflection to the great mastery of Hubbard''s music.
