Joe Jencks is a national touring performer and award-winning songwriter. While Joe Jencks has performed professionally for nearly twenty years, his first all-spiritual recording, The Wonder Deep Within, was released in the summer of 2004. It has met with critical acclaim from fans and reviewers alike. Observer Magazine said, “This recording is a profoundly spiritual statement, and it will go far in helping many people move toward the spiritual centers of their own beings.” The reviewer continued, “Joe’s voice, so unique in its combination of strength and vulnerability, power and sweetness, is the perfect vehicle for these songs.”
In 2004, Joe won the prestigious Walnut Valley Music Festivals’ songwriting contest in the category of “Songs of Religion and Spirit.” The winning song is the title track off his latest recording, The Wonder Deep Within.
Jencks performs in churches, spiritual communities, and other venues throughout the United States, and gained national acclaim for his unique merging of musical beauty, social consciousness, and spiritual exploration. Jencks weaves a diverse web of stories with brilliant musical skill, ensnaring even the most rigid of hearts, inviting them to open.
Jencks studied Vocal Music Performance, Choral Conducting, and Music Education at the undergraduate and graduate level. He has engaged in many forms in music ministry in the last two decades, slowly merging this spiritual work with his professional career as a touring performer and songwriter.
