Revenge is a dish best served cold. Perhaps that explains the decision made by Two Headed Spy to release their debut, Chicken Fat Axe, in January of 2009. After a successful run of initial shows in 2007 and early 2008, the band is back from the studio with their debut EP in tow.
Based in San Francisco, each member of Two Headed Spy originates from a different area of Northern California. Their influences include Queens of the Stone Age, Mr. Bungle, The Mars Volta, The Jesus Lizard, System of a Down, Soundgarden, Tool and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Two Headed Spy can shift from heavy, towering overtones to delicate notes, or tight, energy filled measures that can be complex and unpredictable.
Two Headed Spy (2HS) formed late in 2005. The lineup was finalized in 2006 with Matt Jarrell on bass, Troy Arajas on drums, Trenton Temple singing and playing guitar, and Justin Roberts on lead guitar and percussion. The group played their first show spring of 2007 in San Francisco. 2HS continued to perform regularly before they went into the studio early 2008. They are currently playing and planning more shows in support of their EP Chicken Fat Axe.
