Migrating to Los Angeles to pursue music; Vertices began to come together in the dorms of the USC campus where Cameron Rafati, Taylor Kennedy and Jeremy Gruber all currently attend. The trio soon hooked up with recent Berklee College of Music graduate, Ryan Hanifl, to form Vertices. In just over a year & a half, the band has become a favorite at USC, frequently playing campus charity events and other school related functions. The band has garnered a large fan base, consistently drawing upwards of 150 + crowds to shows at premiere LA venues like The Key Club, the El Ray Theatre, and The Roxy Theatre. Their recently released, self-produced, debut album is a glimpse into the strong, mature, songwriting and complex arrangements that define Vertices'' diverse and distinct sound.
"The level at which this young band is working remains high throughout their self-produced four-song demo, which presents a vocal sound akin to Jack Johnson, but with more rocking energy. ''Good Day'' is an optimistic tune we can all relate to. The put-down song, ''Off The Ground'' shifts gears to a beefier guitar attack and a busy-busy tempo that works. ''Savior'' is a gem that really shows how soulful singer Cameron Rafati can be. Smart labels will want to get in line for Vertices." - from Music Connection Magazine / Vol. XXVII, No. 6 March 17 - March 30, 2003
Last year, Vertices demo release was rated the 3rd highest scoring demo release of 2003, in Music Connection''s "26th Anniversary Issue" 12/08 - 01/04 2004
Currently, founding band member & principle song-writer, Ryan Hanifl, fronts the explosive L.A. rock band, Your Horrible Smile.
