In addition to his production talents, Vice rhymes with a charisma that is trend-setting, similar to renowned artist Jay-Z. Vice may only be halfway to where he is destined to go as an artist/producer, but he is a step ahead and a cut above the others.
Vice, also known as Sedrick Martin, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 30, 1978. He discovered his interest in creating music at a very young age. The formidable stage presence of Vice arises from his many performances at local talent shows and freestyle contests; his following began here. While a Computer Science student at Southeast Missouri State University, Vice acquired a fan base through the sales of his latest music campus-wide, not to mention dropping a few hot verses at as many social events as possible. His enthusiasm for developing his own distinctive sound and style, coupled with his vast knowledge of computers, enabled him to create his own pre-production studio on a modest budget. It will be from this studio that he makes a meteoric rise as an artist/producer.
Eclectic is the best way to describe his style; the best sound from the best sources. "My motivation comes from the desire to introduce something new to the music world. I want to combine Hip-Hop with a touch of Jazz, sprinkle it with a taste of smooth R&B and stir up a perfect combination for any music lover''s taste", says Vice. To add to his songwriting credits, Vice is the co-writer to the Billboard Top 100 single, "One Call Away", which was the third release from multi-platinum Disturbing Tha Peace/Capitol Records newcomer, Chingy. The hot single, also went on to sale 500,000 copies as a worldwide released cd single. He has worked with newly established producers, The Trak Starz, as well as, many local artists and producers.
